What is the Knowledge Repository?
An excellent knowledge repository serves primary stakeholders and governance practitioners with timely and relevant knowledge through a wide range of knowledge resources acquired methodically and responsively. These may include original, free or copyrighted articles acquired from various sources in India and abroad.

Government reports, publications, policy papers, toolkits, research analyses, case studies, and multimedia content (audio, video, films and presentations).

What is the background of the GKC?
The Capacity Building for Poverty Reduction (CBPR) Programme, launched by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensions (MoP) in 2005, aims at building the capacity of the Indian civil service for improved public administration at all levels for better service delivery, leading to poverty reduction. The Governance Knowledge Centre (GKC), undertaken by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR&PG) has been envisaged as a key initiative under CBPR to serve as a digital single point of reference on good practices in governance and public service delivery that would help develop capacity at district, state and centre to ensure optimal use of systems and resources.
